Carencro Firefighters were awoke to a report of a structure fire at 103 Smith-Reed Rd. at 00:16hrs.  Automatic Aid was dispatched and Engine 9 with Lafayette FD reported flames showing in the sky from near Parklane Rd.  This area consists of very large residences.  Upon the arrival of Engine 9, Captain Chauvin reported heavy flames showing from the A side.  Chief 310 arrived and assumed command at 0030. E9 made inital attack, Tanker 31 arrived and supplied water.  There are no hydrants in this area, so a second alarm was requested.  Prarie FD#5 and Duson Fire Department send Tankers to assist.  The fire had originated in the living room, and had spread to most of the first and second story of the A/B side.  The fire was delcared under control at 0142hrs, and out at 0211hrs.  An investigaton was completed, and the cause of the fire was determined to be unintentional, by an unattended candle.  At 0600hrs, Carencro was alerted of a rekindle at this location.  This brought in two more alarms as the entire residence was fully involved.  Firefighters remained at the location until 4pm putting out spot fires and using an excavator to move debris.
