Early morning house fire for Carencro Firefighters

An alarm sounded at approximately 0345hrs this morning for a reported house on fire in the 1700 block of Gendarme Rd.  Chief 310 lives just a few blocks away and was on the scene within minutes.  Chief Haydel arrived and reported a working structure fire with no exposures.  Engines 33, 32 and Tanker 31 responded from Carencro with the assistance of Lafayette Engine 9, Scott E-51 and Tanker 51.  The fire was under control in just under an hour.  The fire started in a bathroom and had extended into the attic area prior to Firefighters arrival.  All units returned to service at 0700hrs.  The cause of this fire is still under investigation.
